This t-shirt features a coastal, beach inspired, front left chest logo with a full design on the back. The pelican is a Christian symbol that represents self-sacrifice and Christ’s sacrifice for humanity. When a mother pelican can’t find food for her young during a drought, she uses her beak to pierce her breast and feed her young her blood. Early Christians saw this as a depiction of Christ’s sacrifice and the pelican has been frequently been depicted in Christian art.
The tee says “Corpus Christi” which is Latin for “Body of Christ”. It also incorporates the Latin phrase, “Qui manducat me vitam habebit”, which means “the one who feeds on me will have life”, coming from the Gospel of John 6:57.
